Eutelsat and V-Nova jointly announced investment and strategic partnership - V-Nova integrates PERSEUS™ with Microsoft Azure Media Services and Windows 10 devices - V-Nova unlocks the Virtual Reality (VR) and 360 video experience - V-Nova ‘Best of Show’ win at IBC 2016 makes it four in a row, following awards at IBC 2015 and NAB 2015 & 2016 **London, September 20, 2016 –** [V-Nova Ltd.](https://www.v-nova.com/en/index.html), a global software IP company that delivers game-changing video and data encoding solutions, today announced that IBC saw accelerated market traction and industry support for its innovative V-Nova PERSEUS video compression technology. The successful show was completed with an IBC ‘Best of Show Award’ win for V-Nova, making it four wins in a row following similar awards at IBC 2015 and NAB 2015 & 2016. Its IBC press event saw V-Nova announce a strategic partnership with Eutelsat, who is also taking a minority stake in the company. The partnership, which started during a project to [contribute 4K live feeds to Italian public broadcaster RAI during the UEFA Euro 2016](https://www.v-nova.com/eutelsat-deploys-v-nova-perseus-power-4k-contribution-live-uefa-euro-championship-matches-rai-uhd-channel/), will enable both companies to further unlock the latent demand for higher quality HD and UHD video. IBC also saw Microsoft and V-Nova showcase a live and on-demand multiplatform streaming workflow built on Azure Media Services and powered by PERSEUS. This integration of PERSEUS video compression into the workflow can be used to deliver higher quality video to a wide range of Windows 10 capable devices, including Xbox, smartphones, tablets and the 360 video Hololens. “Our fourth Best of Show award in a row is the coronation of an incredible 18 months since our launch, during which we made incredible progress, integrated into multiple partner products and ecosystems and deployed PERSEUS in very diverse applications.” said Guido Meardi, CEO and co-founder of V-Nova. “IBC saw us demonstrate how V-Nova PERSEUS is the only solution that can fully unlock the latent demand for video, whether Ultra HD in mature markets, SD video delivered to mobile video in emerging markets or brand new cutting-edge experiences in VR and 360 video. This is further proof of why for so many advanced video applications it just has to be PERSEUS,” concluded Meardi. **V-Nova PERSEUS** encoding software solutions shift the entire bitrate quality curve to enable UHD quality at HD bitrates, HD at SD and SD at sub-audio rates, dramatically closing the gap between capacity needs and legacy compression technologies. This allows data and video to be transported, stored and secured faster and more cost-effectively, without requiring network upgrades. Used for contribution and distribution of video from SD to UHD, 8K, VR/360 and HDR, V-Nova PERSEUS enables customers and partners to improve quality, reduce costs, differentiate products, increase market reach, and provide new services; all within currently available bandwidth and infrastructure. **Note to editors:** If you would like to know more about V-Nova, please e-mail [v-nova@platformpr.com](mailto:v-nova@platformpr.com), or call Platform’s David Bramley on +44 207 486 4900. ##### Share this [mailto:?subject=https://campaign.v-nova.com/press-release/press-releases/v-nova-best-show-award-completes-successful-ibc-video-compression-innovator](mailto:?subject=https://campaign.v-nova.com/press-release/press-releases/v-nova-best-show-award-completes-successful-ibc-video-compression-innovator) [V-Nova ‘Best of Show’ Award Completes Successful I](https://campaign.v-nova.com/press-release/tag/v-nova-best-of-show-award-completes-successful-ibc) ## Related [![](https://campaign.v-nova.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/Slide1-1.jpg)](https://campaign.v-nova.com/press-release/press-releases/v-nova-completes-the-acquisition-of-parallaxter-srl-the-company-behind-the-presenz-xr-technology) [V-Nova completes the acquisition of Parallaxter Sr](https://campaign.v-nova.com/press-release/tag/v-nova-completes-the-acquisition-of-parallaxter-sr) ##### [V-Nova completes the acquisition of Parallaxter Srl, the company behind the PresenZ XR technology](https://campaign.v-nova.com/press-release/press-releases/v-nova-completes-the-acquisition-of-parallaxter-srl-the-company-behind-the-presenz-xr-technology) • V-Nova completes the acquisition of Parallaxter, adding the PresenZ XR technology to its IP portfolio • PresenZ,...
