V-Nova, a leading provider of compression solutions, announces today that it has won TVB Europe’s “Innovation and R&D Award for Outstanding Technical Achievement” for its ground-breaking PERSEUS technology. NewBay Media’s TVB Awards celebrate the industry’s most promising and successful innovations and projects.
V-Nova’s winning entry was for PERSEUS, an advanced video compression technology that enables operators to extend their reach into new markets, deliver higher quality video and provide otherwise undeliverable services. By shifting the entire video bitrate-quality curve to enable UHD quality video at HD bitrates, HD at SD bitrates, and SD video at sub-audio bitrates, PERSEUS delivers significant improvements in compression, picture quality, processing speed, latency and power consumption using the existing ecosystem, workflows and standard, commercial-off- the-shelf hardware.

The TVB Award reflects the media and entertainment industries’ strong recognition of PERSEUS’ advanced capabilities. The award builds on V-Nova’s highly successful April NAB debut and IBC show last month, where PERSEUS was simultaneously featured on 12 booths of industry leading partners and customers. V-Nova left IBC with both the NewBay Media “Best of Show Award” and CSI’s “Best Digital Video Processing Technology Award”.
