V-Nova Technology
- V-Nova LCEVC is the industry’s first highly optimized library for encoding and decoding enhanced video streams with MPEG-5 Part 2, Low-Complexity Enhancement Video Coding (LCEVC).
- V-Nova VC-6 is a high-performance AI-powered software library for SMPTE VC-6 (ST-2117), an innovative codec for professional production workflows, imaging, gaming and media indexing applications.
- V-Nova PresenZ is an innovative photorealistic Six Degrees of Freedom (6DoF) volumetric format that combines V-Nova’s efficient point cloud compression with PresenZ’s unique volumetric movie format that allows the viewer to freely move inside the picture, creating a real sense of scale and immersion.
Our Directors
Co-founder and CEO of V-Nova, a tech company dedicated to improving data, video, imaging, and point-cloud compression. Its technologies have been granted international standard status by MPEG, ISO and SMPTE. Guido contributed to the foundational development work for V-Nova’s core technology and most of its latest developments as an inventor of its 400+ active patents.
A former senior Partner at McKinsey, Guido was head of the Organization and Operations Practices of the Mediterranean Complex, where he led transformational projects across the globe and was instrumental in setting up some of McKinsey’s own innovation-related business-building activities.
Guido holds an MBA from MIT Sloan, where he was a Siebel Scholar, and an M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, where he was an Intel scholar, and the University of Texas at Austin.
London based investment banker promoted through a series of sales roles at Deutsche Bank and RBS before joining Goldman Sachs in 2010.
He specialised in developing structured derivatives for corporate clients and financial institutions. Overall, this gives him just under 20 years of experience structuring and selling B2B complex financial solutions to large firms.
Coming from an entrepreneurial family background, Pierdavide is an experienced entrepreneur with several previous business ventures and successful exits to his name.
One of the earliest financial backers of V-Nova, in 2015 Pierdavide resigned his Executive Directorship at Goldman Sachs to run V-Nova full time
Pierdavide holds a Degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University in Milan.
Director Emeritus of McKinsey & Company and former head of McKinsey’s UK TMT practice David brings three decades of strategic expertise to the board.
His time at McKinsey was characterised by blue-chip B2B consulting, growing company leaders and development into overseas markets.
Since leaving McKinsey David has served on the boards of several listed companies, including Telekom Malaysia, Telecom Italia and fintech company Tungsten Corporation.
He also has extensive experience with technology-based start-up companies, as a director, advisor and investor.
David holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an MA in Mathematics from the University of Oxford.

Mr Federico Faggin, and his foundation, were among V-Nova’s earlier investors and founding members. Federico Faggin, physicist, engineer, entrepreneur, designed the first commercial microprocessor, the Intel 4004. In 1974, he co-founded and was CEO of Zilog that developed the Zilog Z80 and Z8 processors. In 1986 he co-founded Synaptics, introducing the first touchpads and touchscreens that now dominate the market. In 2011, Faggin founded the Federico and Elvia Faggin Foundation.
Neva SGR, part of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group and wholly owned by Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, plans and manages investment funds for professional investors interested in seizing the diversification and high-yield opportunities offered by venture capital investments.
